Dickinson teachers inspire our children to love learning. Each month, Dickinson PTO recognizes one teacher who has gone above and beyond as nominated by a Dickinson parent. Teachers receive a $20 gift card, courtesy of Japaneiro's Sushi Bistro and Latin Grill and a front row parking space in the teacher's parking lot. During the school year we received lots of heartwarming nominations. Below is a list of teachers recognized during the 2014-15 school year:

“Thanks a Billion!” .... Target Kicks Off A New Teacher Appreciation Campaign ... As part of the social campaign, guests are encouraged to share a message of appreciation through Target’s Facebook page or the Thanks a Billion website, honoring a teacher who has made an impact on their life. When a guest submits a note of gratitude (certain terms & conditions apply), Target will donate $25 to the teacher’s school with the opportunity for each school to receive up to $25,000. But here’s the best part: Target won’t stop until it’s given away a grand total of $5 million.

Looking for a rewarding opportunity with flexible hours and lots of job security? Dickinson PTO Elections are May 4th. We need your ideas and want you to be part of the team.

When you hear the word "volunteer" is your biggest fear that you will be sucked into a black hole of never-ending time commitment? Serving on the PTO Executive Board or chairing a committee doesn’t mean you will give hours and hours of your time. Our unofficial motto is have fun, meet new people, keep it simple and family first. Volunteering is flexible and can be done during school hours or in the evenings, whether you work full- or part-time or still have young children at home.

About Dickinson PTO:  We have partnered with and provide support to Dickinson Elementary School’s teachers and administration to help make our school the best it can be for our children. With funds raised through membership, events and donations, we provide funding for school improvements not provided in school budgets to include field trips technology upgrades and classroom resources. We support teachers in various ways such as providing funds for approved classroom uses and snacks at weekly teacher meetings and draw our community together through various extra-curricular activities.

A brief description of the 2015-16 PTO Executive Board positions and committee chairs are located under About Us. Please consider a small donation of your time, and invite your friends. All board position terms are held for one year and the school year goes fast!

If you would like to nominate a potential candidate, the nomination form can be found here.

If you need additional information regarding any of the board positions or committee chairs, please email PTO President, Jill Carroll at
